George Barnes, a thirty-two year salon owner, and accomplished stylist, is a native Tennessean born January 27, 1948. He has been a consultant and platform artist for major companies such as Image Laboratories, Carson Products, Keystone Laboratories, and J. Strickland and Company.

Barnes has studied with Thomas Hayden, Randy Rick, Ben DeCordova, Pivot Point, Clairol, and Johnson Products. He specializes in color and relaxer techniques. his work has been highlighted in major magazines such as Ebony, Essence, Shop Talk, and Grace Magazine.

He has also consulted with several television shows as a image consultant for hair and make up and has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe traveling with trade shows.

Barnes also adds to his credits, participation in numerous beauty school clinics, workshops, cut-a-thons, fund raising events, and has sponsored several creative and entertaining hair shows.

Barnes is currently the owner of Studio 1A Salon and Spa located at 306 South Main in Memphis, Tennessee. He is also marketing a new invention called the chair applicator bowl along with a complete line of cosmetics.
